TRENDS IN TELECOMMUNICATION IN AFRICA

Executive Research Associates will, in conjunction with Africa Analysis, host a breakfast briefing on July 28.

The telecommunication sector has become one of the driving economic forces in Africa during the past decade, and most analysts expect this trend to continue. This represents a huge opportunity for South African and multinational companies, but competition, new technological developments and regulatory issues could have a direct impact on business decisions.

Africa Analysis' MD, Andre Wills will assess these and other trends during a presentation that promises to provide many insights and answers to industry-related questions. The presentation will focus on trends in telecommunications in Africa, including continent-wide trends in fixed line voice and data, mobile voice and data, as well as trends in broadband. Andre will also address African country market examples,  M&A activity in the African telecommunications market and expected impact of economic downturn on African telecommunications markets.

Dr Nel Marais (ERA) will then highlight some political, security and economic trends in those African countries that are expected to play a leading role the telecommunication industry.
